So much of reaction is unconscious.

Physical illnesses are starting to lose their stigma. Hopefully it will be a short lag until the other stigma's catch up.

Have you seen? do you know anyone suffering from http://www.psychosiphobia.com/Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37845694.post-4584528551839900222007-02-16T19:02:00.000-08:002007-02-16T19:02:00.000-08:00linda, i agree, psychiatrists and psychologists ca...linda, i agree, psychiatrists and psychologists can help where a pastor may not be able to. My pastor handed me off to a trained professional and I am SO glad.David Edwardhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02690273066219097101noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37845694.post-70072121680901969202007-02-16T15:10:00.000-08:002007-02-16T15:10:00.000-08:00I'm a Christian, and I firmly believe that medicat...I'm a Christian, and I firmly believe that medications and doctors were created by GOD. He gave the doctors the knowledge to treat me, he gave the scientists the ability to create the medications. It then becomes up to me to be prudent in the use of what I have to take.

I suffer from hypothyroidism and depression. Were it not for medications, I would probably not have children today and I would be a shadow of myself.Lindahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11956372504248127591noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37845694.post-10534095420973649462007-02-16T02:47:00.000-08:002007-02-16T02:47:00.000-08:00sad but true!sad but true!Live, Love, Laughhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03888736764866973600noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37845694.post-33908871221455288162007-02-15T08:21:00.000-08:002007-02-15T08:21:00.000-08:00my father suffered from depression 30 years ago, b...my father suffered from depression 30 years ago, but there was not the acceptance of psychology as treatment that there is now, nor were the drugs as refined. All he would do is go for a drive ( or walk) with my mom, and talk. I know that is good, but i wish that there had been more available for him. He passed away at 60, from a stroke. He was a good man and a great dad. we all miss him.David Edwardhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02690273066219097101noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37845694.post-36212254466543387752007-02-15T07:36:00.000-08:002007-02-15T07:36:00.000-08:00It's not only Christians. I think it's a shame that people, generally, treat mental illness as a stigma, but have sympathy for those afflicted by physical disease.

I think it's fear.runliarunhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07367107576228601621noreply@blogger.com
